Nursing students from one affiliated college to another. This notification, effective from the 2022-23 session, outlines the specific eligibility criteria and procedural steps required for a successful migration.
If you are a nursing student under SSUHS considering a transfer, here is everything you need to know based on the official University notification.
Eligibility Criteria for SSUHS Migration
Not every student is eligible for a transfer. The University has set strict guidelines to ensure academic consistency:
- Completion of First Year: Candidates are only eligible to apply for migration after they have successfully qualified in their BSc. Nursing 1st Year Examination.
- Government College Transfers: Migration between Government Nursing Colleges is granted only on compassionate or genuine medical grounds.
- College Recognition: Both the current and the receiving college must be recognized by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and SSUHS.
- Vacancy & Intake: Transfers are subject to available vacancies. Migration is restricted to 5% of the sanctioned intake of the college for that year, and it must not result in exceeding the sanctioned capacity of the receiving college
The Migration Process: Step-by-Step
To move forward with a migration request, students must follow this specific timeline and documentation process:
- Obtain No Objection Certificates (NOCs): You must secure three separate NOCs:
- From your current college.
- From the college you wish to transfer to.
- From the Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS).
- Application Timeline: You must apply for migration within one month (30 days) of the declaration of your B.Sc. Nursing 1st Year University results.
- Submission: The application, along with the three NOCs, must be submitted to the Director of Medical Education (DME), Assam.
Academic Requirements Post-Migration
Once a student has successfully migrated to a new college, they must remain focused on their attendance to remain eligible for exams:
- Attendance Policy: To appear for the B.Sc. Nursing 2nd Year University examination, students must meet the required attendance percentage by combining their attendance from both the previous college and the new migrated college.
