SEBA/ HSLC Compartmental Examination 2025: Key Details and Guidelines
The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB), Division-I, Guwahati, has unveiled an essential opportunity for students through the HSLC Compartmental Examination 2025. Announced on April 11, 2025, this single-chance examination is designed for candidates who narrowly missed passing the HSLC Examination 2025. The notification provides comprehensive guidelines for students aiming to clear up to three failed subjects and continue their academic journey without delay. Who Can Appear?
Students who failed in a maximum of three subjects in the HSLC Examination 2025 and achieved a minimum aggregate of 170 marks are eligible. To pass the Compartmental Examination, candidates must secure at least 30% marks in each subject attempted, with a total aggregate of 180 marks or higher. Successful candidates can seamlessly enroll in higher classes within the same academic year.
Note: If a candidate does not pass this single-chance examination, they must re-enroll in their school and appear as a regular candidate in the next academic year.
Examination Highlights
- Theory Papers Only: The examination focuses solely on theory papers, with marks from practical exams and internal assessments (IA) from HSLC 2025 carried over where applicable.
- OMR Answer Sheets: Core subjects will use OMR sheets for objective questions, requiring separate passing in both OMR and descriptive sections.
- Examination Date: The start date will be announced on the SEBA portal, so stay tuned for updates.
- Examination Centres: A list of centres will be available online. Schools must select a centre during the application process. Centres with fewer than 50 candidates may be merged with the nearest one.
Application Process and Fees
The application process is streamlined and will be conducted online through schools. The schedule for form submission will be announced within three days of the HSLC 2025 result declaration. Candidates must pay:
- Examination Fee: Rs 500/- per subject, payable via SBI online or challan.
- Centre Fee: Rs 150/- per candidate, which is reimbursed by ASSEB to the centres, ensuring no additional collection by centres.
Schools will assist students in selecting subjects and centres through the SEBA online portal, making the process user-friendly and efficient.
Results and Certification
Upon passing, candidates will receive a Fresh Mark-sheet Cum Certificate, incorporating marks from the Compartmental Examination. This certificate ensures a smooth transition to higher classes, keeping students’ academic goals on track.

Steps for Form Fill-Up
Follow these steps to ensure a smooth application process for the HSLC Compartmental Examination 2025:
- Visit the official registration portal at sebaregistration.org.
- Click on School Login. Use the same User ID and Password as the Class IX Registration Portal. If the credentials are lost, contact the Member Secretary at the Regional Office, ASSEB, of your district for assistance.
- After logging in, navigate to the “Compartmental Form Fill-up” section.
- Click “Apply” to proceed.
- A list of eligible candidates for the HSLC Compartmental Examination 2025 will be automatically populated on the portal.
- Select the respective candidates and proceed to the payment section. Payments can be made via SBI Online mode or by generating an SBI Challan from the portal. For challan payments, schools must deposit the fees at any nearby SBI branch along with the required amount.
- After successful payment, go to the “Payment” section on the portal.
- Download Form 50, which is available for all successful transactions.
