GNM Nursing Seats Increased in 2026

One of the important updates for GNM Nursing aspirants is the increase in the total number of Government GNM seats.

If the previous year’s total was 1,390 seats, the latest 2026 seat matrix showing 1,420 seats represents an increase of:

1,420 − 1,390 = 30 seats

So, there are 30 more Government GNM Nursing seats compared with 1,390 seats.

Important Points for Assam GNM Nursing Aspirants

The latest seat matrix is important for candidates because the total Government GNM Nursing seats have been shown as 1,420.

The seat distribution is also important during counselling because college allotment depends on the available seats, category, rank and counselling rules applicable to the admission process.

DHS Assam has conducted GNM counselling through official counselling notices and selection lists in previous sessions, including the 2025–26 admission session.

Candidates should therefore regularly check the official notifications before attending counselling and should not rely only on unofficial social-media information.
