Eligibility Criteria for Assam GNM Admission
To apply for the SSUHS GNM Nursing course, candidates must meet the following requirements:
1. Educational Qualification
- 10+2 (Higher Secondary): Must have passed 10+2 with English, securing a minimum of 40% aggregate marks and pass marks in English individually.
- Streams: Candidates from Science, Arts, and Commerce are eligible. However, Science is preferred.
- Open Schooling: Candidates from State Open Schools or the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) are also eligible.
- Vocational Courses: 10+2 with English and 40% marks in Vocational ANM or Health Care Science from recognized boards.
- Registered ANM: Candidates who are already registered ANMs with pass marks can apply.
2. Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 17 years (as of 31st December 2026).
- Maximum Age: 35 years.
- Note: There is no age bar for RANM/RLHV candidates.
3. Residency & Fitness
- Citizenship: Applicant must be a citizen of India.
- PRC: A Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) is mandatory for admission into Government Institutes in Assam.
- Medical Fitness: Candidates must be medically fit to pursue the course.
