According to the seat distribution document, the total number of seats is 1,420, including 583 UR, 142 EWS, 383 OBC/MOBC, 142 STP, 71 STH and 99 SC seats.

GNM Nursing Seats Increased in 2026
One of the important updates for GNM Nursing aspirants is the increase in the total number of Government GNM seats.
If the previous year’s total was 1,390 seats, the latest 2026 seat matrix showing 1,420 seats represents an increase of:
1,420 − 1,390 = 30 seats
So, there are 30 more Government GNM Nursing seats compared with 1,390 seats.

Community Reservation Under OBC/MOBC Category
The notice also mentions reservation provisions for certain communities within the OBC/MOBC category.
According to the note printed on the seat distribution document, reservation is provided for:
- Tai Ahom Community – 11 seats
- Koch Rajbongshi Community – 14 seats
- Moran Community – 10 seats
- Matak Community – 10 seats
- Chutia Community – 11 seats
- TGL/Ex-TGL – 20 seats
The notice states that these reservations shall be made from the OBC/MOBC category within the reservation provided under the relevant Government notification.
Divyang Reservation
The notice also mentions 3% reservation for Divyang candidates.
