About Ishan Uday Scholarship 2025
The Ishan Uday Scholarship is a special initiative by the University Grants Commission (UGC) to promote higher education among students from the North Eastern Region (NER) of India. Every year, 10,000 fresh scholarships are awarded to eligible students pursuing general degree, technical, professional, medical, and paramedical courses.

Ishan Uday Scholarship 2025 Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: The scholarship is open to students who have passed Class XII or an equivalent examination from a school within the North Eastern Region (NER) through a recognized Board of Education, including CBSE, ICSE, or NIOS.
- UG Admission: Available only to students pursuing a recognized undergraduate degree program as notified by the UGC. Only students admitted in the first year of an undergraduate program in an eligible university, college, or institution within India are eligible.
- Parental Income: The annual income of the student’s parents should be below Rs. 4.5 lakh.
- Domicile: The student must have a valid domicile certificate from any state in the NER.

Selection Process
🎯 A total of 10,000 scholarships will be awarded annually.
🎯 If applications exceed available slots, selection is based on Class 12 performance.
🎯 Distribution of scholarships depends on the population of respective NE states.
🎯 Unutilized slots from one state will be redistributed to others.
🎯 Reservation is provided for PwD (Persons with Disabilities) candidates as per Government norms.
