VKNRL School of Nursing, located in Ponka Grant, Numaligarh, Golaghat, Assam (PIN: 785699), invites applications for the General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course for the session 2025-2026. This is a CSR initiative of the NRL, and the entrance examination will be conducted by Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS), Guwahati, Assam.
Candidates interested in enrolling in the GNM course at VKNRL School of Nursing, Numaligarh, are required to appear for the GNM Entrance Examination (GNMEE). The examination will be conducted by SSUHS for both government and private institutes under the Directorate of Health Services, Assam.
The online application form for the GNMEE will be available on the SSUHS website (www.ssuhs.in) from May 13, 2025, to June 13, 2025. Candidates are requested to refer to the Educational Notice (GNM Entrance Examination, 2025) No. SSUHS/159/2025/3305, dated May 8, 2025, on the same website for further guidance.
Admission to VKNRL School of Nursing will be based on the marks obtained in the GNM Entrance Examination (GNMEE). After the declaration of results, eligible candidates must apply with their GNMEE score card and necessary testimonials within the stipulated time period. SSUHS GNM Nursing Entrance Exam 2025 Eligibility Criteria
Academic Qualifications
- 10+2 with English (minimum 40% aggregate, with pass marks in English).
- Science stream preferred.
- Recognized boards: CBSE/State/National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).
- Vocational ANM/Health Care Science (10+2 with 40% marks).
- Registered ANM candidates (no age bar).
Age Limit
- Minimum: 17 years by 31 December 2025.
- Maximum: 35 years (waived for RANM/RLHV candidates).
Residency Requirement
- Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) mandatory for Government Institutes.
a) Seat reservation as per Govt. of Assam {SC-7%, ST(P)-10%, ST(H)-5%, OBC/MOBC27%, EWS-10%}**. In case of non-availability of suitable candidates from the reserved categories, the vacant seats will be filed up by the candidates from the open merit list.
b) For disabled candidates: 5% disability reservation to be considered with a disability of locomotors to the tune of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity and other eligibility criteria with regard to age and qualification will be same as prescribed for nursing programme.
c) 30% of the seats shall be reserved for the candidates from 10 KM radius of Numaligarh Refinery Limited (Schooling from schools covered under Gyandeep Scheme), 30% of the seats shall be reserved for the candidates from Golaghat District and 40% of the seats isopen for all. In case of non-availability of suitable candidates from 10 km radius of Numaligarh Refinery Limited, these seats shall be filled from the merit list of Golaghat District and in case of non-availability of suitable candidates from Golaghat District; the same shall be filled from open merit list.
Selection Process
Selection shall be based on the marks scored in the GNM Entrance Examination
(GNMEE) conducted by Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences
(SSUHS).
The minimum qualifying criteria/cut off marks in the entrance examination as per
educational notice by Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences,
No.SSUHS/159/2025/5610 dated 11.08.2025 will be as follows:
i. General (UR/EWS) : 18th percentile = 29 marks.
ii. SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/MOBC: 15th percentile = 28 marks.
iii. Divyang : 15th percentile = 28 marks.
The provisional merit list, taking all criteria into consideration, shall be prepared and
published in the website at https://www.vknrlnursingadmission.in .
