AAU Diploma Admission 2026 – Assam Agricultural University (AAU), Jorhat has released Admission Notice 02/2026 for admission into the 3-year Diploma Courses in Agriculture and Horticulture for the academic session 2026-27. As per the official admission notice dated 28 September 2026, interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the AAU admission portal from 1 October 2026 to 25 October 2026. The admission is for Diploma in Agriculture and Diploma in Horticulture programmes offered under Assam Agricultural University. AAU Diploma Courses and Seat Details

Assam Agricultural University is offering admission to the following two diploma programmes for the academic session 2026-27.

1. Diploma in Agriculture

College: Biswanath College of Agriculture (BNCA), Biswanath Chariali

Number of Seats: 25

Duration:
Minimum – 6 Semesters
Maximum – 10 Semesters

Eligibility

Candidates must have:

  • Passed Class 10 / HSLC / Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSC) / Matriculation examination.
  • Secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination for General/OBC/UPS category.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH category require a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate.
  • Minimum age: 15 years.

2. Diploma in Horticulture

College: College of Horticulture & Farming System Research (CHFSR), Nalbari

Number of Seats: 25

Duration:
Minimum – 6 Semesters
Maximum – 10 Semesters

Eligibility

Candidates must have:

  • Passed Class 10 / HSLC / Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSC) / Matriculation examination.
  • Secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate for General/OBC/UPS category.
  • Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH category require a minimum of 40% marks in aggregate.
  • Minimum age: 15 years.

There are 25 seats in Diploma in Agriculture and 25 seats in Diploma in Horticulture, making a total of 50 seats for the two diploma programmes.

AAU Diploma Admission 2026 Important Dates

The admission notice states that the online admission portal will remain open during the following period:

Candidates should complete registration, application submission, document upload and fee payment within the prescribed period.

How to Apply for AAU Diploma Admission 2026

Candidates are required to apply online through the official AAU admission portal.

Step 1 – Registration

Candidates must first register themselves on the AAU admission portal.

A valid personal:

  • Mobile Number

is required for registration and future communication.

After successful registration, the candidate will receive login/registration credentials through the registered mobile number and an email containing a verification link. Both need to be verified to complete the registration process.

Step 2 – Fill Up the Application Form

After registration, candidates need to log in and complete the online application form.

Candidates have to enter their personal and academic information and upload the required documents.

The photograph and signature should be uploaded in JPEG format, with a maximum size of 100 KB each.

Required certificates/documents should be uploaded in PDF format, generally with a maximum size of 150 KB each as specified in the Information Bulletin.

Candidates can update the application details multiple times before final submission.

Important: Once the application form is finalized and submitted, the information cannot be changed or modified at the university end. Therefore, candidates should carefully check all details before final submission.

Step 3 – Pay the Application Fee

After completing the application form:

  1. Preview the complete application form.
  2. Check all personal and academic details carefully.
  3. Submit the application form.
  4. The system will redirect the candidate to the payment page.
  5. Pay the ₹500 application fee through the integrated payment gateway.
  6. Check the payment status in the Payment History section of the dashboard.
  7. After successful payment, download and print the Acknowledgement Sheet for future reference.

Candidates are advised to keep a copy of the submitted application form and payment acknowledgement.

Documents Required for AAU Diploma Application 2026

Candidates should keep the following documents ready before starting the online application:

  • Recent passport-size photograph – JPEG, maximum 100 KB
  • Candidate’s signature – JPEG, maximum 100 KB
  • Mark sheets from Class X to the last examination passed – PDF, maximum 150 KB each
  • Pass Certificate of the qualifying examination – PDF, maximum 150 KB
  • Age Proof Certificate, such as Birth Certificate or Class X Admit Card – PDF, maximum 150 KB
  • Caste Certificate, if applicable – PDF, maximum 150 KB
  • Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) / Nativity Certificate – PDF, maximum 150 KB
  • Medical Fitness Certificate in the prescribed AAU format – PDF, maximum 150 KB
  • EWS Certificate, if applicable, valid for 2026-27 – PDF, maximum 150 KB
  • Migration/Transfer Certificate, if applicable – PDF, maximum 150 KB
  • Relevant certificate from the appropriate authority against the applicable quota, wherever required.

If the Migration/Transfer Certificate is not available during application, the candidate has to submit it at the time of admission/reporting. Failure to produce the required document may result in cancellation of admission.

Selection and Admission Procedure

Candidates must submit their applications online within the prescribed date.

Candidates may be required to appear personally before the Selection Committee at their own expense on the scheduled date(s) notified by Assam Agricultural University.

Selection and admission of candidates will be made strictly on the basis of merit/entrance test as per the regulations in force.

Candidates should regularly check the official AAU website for further notifications regarding the selection and admission process.

Medical Fitness Requirement

Admission to the diploma programmes is subject to the candidate being declared medically fit.

The medical fitness certificate has to be issued by a Registered Practitioner/Government Practitioner as specified by the university.

The prescribed AAU Medical Fitness Certificate is included as Annexure I of the Information Bulletin.

The original medical certificate must be produced at the time of reporting.

The fees and charges are subject to revision as per university regulations.

Hostel Fee Structure

Separate hostel facilities are available for male and female students at various locations.

However, admission to the academic programme does not automatically guarantee hostel accommodation. Hostel allotment depends on availability and requires payment of the prescribed hostel fees.

Mess dues are extra.

The Information Bulletin also states that students should anticipate a minimum monthly expenditure towards mess charges.

Seat Reservation

Assam Agricultural University provides reservation of seats for eligible candidates under applicable categories.

  • Scheduled Tribe – Plains and Hills (STP/STH)
  • Other Backward Classes / More Other Backward Classes (OBC/MOBC)

Documents to Be Produced in Original at Admission

Candidates must produce the required original documents at the time of reporting/admission, including:

  • HSLC marksheet and certificate
